According to Forbes, in 2016 WordPress was powering 25% of all websites. Some of the more notable WordPress websites are: The New Yorker, BBC America, Beyonce, MTV News, & Variety.

WHAT IS WORDPRESS?

Simply put, it’s an open source CMS platform boasts thousands of plugins for almost every functionality imaginable, some free, some paid, it’s truely a Swiss-army knife of website platforms.

SO WHAT IS A CMS AND WHY DO I NEED ONE?

CMS is short for Content Management System. In other words, once the website is all set up, it allows the site admins (you and your staff) to add content to the website without knowing a single line of HTML.

Other CMS systems include: Magento, Shopify, Squarespace – they all have various business models but the other advantages of WordPress it’s open source and there is an unequalled number of plug-ins to choose from that add specific functions to your site.
